How to Setup the Paint Zoom Sprayer and How to Prepare the Material for Your Paint Zoom

by Richard

Setting up your Paint Zoom is fairly easy. Basically, all you have to do is connect the hose to the spray gun and to the motor base, and you are ready to start your painting project. Well, almost ready since you have to prepare the material that you are going to use as well. The good news is that the hose can be positioned any way that is comfortable for you to use. This allows you to use the Paint Zoom in ways that other machines aren’t capable of being used.

Setting up the material that you are going to be spraying is a bit more difficult than just hooking the hose up to the machine. There are all different kinds of materials that you can use through this sprayer and, with such a variety you are going to have to make sure that the material you are using has the right consistency. This means you are going to have to cross reference the material you are going to use with the viscosity chart that comes with the Paint Zoom.

You have to make sure that the material has the right viscosity to pass through the machine and be able to spray consistently. If your material is too thin than it is going run and streak on the object you are trying to paint. If the material is too thick, then you are going to find it difficult to paint anything as it won’t be able to make its way through the paint system. It will then clog up, and you will have nothing but problems until you get it cleaned up again. That is why you have to make sure the viscosity is just right.

In order to check the viscosity, you will need to use the viscosity cup that comes with the Paint Zoom. Dip it fully into the material you are using and hold it up over the can. Count how many seconds it takes to empty the cup and reference that number with the chart for the material you are using. If it needs thinned, then use the thinning material as per the directions on the material you are using.
